Business Pitch Challenge Rules and Submission Information

 

About OPEN - Houston

OPEN Houston is an inclusive organization, and our members include corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, banking professionals, social leaders, academics and students.

 

Who Can Compete

This challenge is open to ALL currently enrolled students or recent graduates (class of 2012 or later) from Texas Colleges and Universities.  Applicants must be at the pre-revenue and pre-investment stage.

 

Why You Should Compete

• Gain exposure to active investors and entrepreneurs in the audience

• Grand cash prize

• All submissions will receive feedback

• Bragging rights for winning and/or participating in the competition!

 

How to Compete

Submit a two page Executive Summary and a Presentation with 6 to 10 slides about your Business Idea. Please email your submission to challenge@openhouston.org.

 

Examples and templates are available on our site. A vetting committee will select eight (8) to ten (10) of the best ideas for the competition. The selection criteria are:

• Potential Value

• Probability of Success

September 10th - Last Day to Submit Business Pitches

September 19th - Finalists Announced

September 27th - Finalist Presentations. Competition winner announced.
