About us
The Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) is a voluntary not-for-profit association dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship and professional excellence within the Pakistani-American community. The organization was formed in 1998 by a group of Pakistani-American entrepreneurs and corporate executives and registered in Massachusetts in 2000. The association's charter is to provide networking opportunities and enhanced business opportunities for entrepreneurs and professionals of Pakistani heritage in North America. OPEN meetings and events are open to the public. OPEN has chapters in Boston, Silicon Valley, Washington DC, Houston, Chicago and New York.

OPEN Houston is an inclusive organization, and our members includes corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and banking professionals, social leaders, academics and students. Leveraging our unique membership at OPEN Houston we provide programs in the following areas within our community:

OPEN Houston is proud to provide a great platform to the Pakistani American entrepreneurs and professionals to showcase their outstanding contributions to the US economy as well provide a conduit to the mainstream business and professional community in the US to interact with the Pakistani diaspora both in Houston and in Pakistan.
President's Message
At OPEN Houston, our ongoing goal is to deliver increasing value to our stakeholders – members, sponsors, attendees, volunteers and the community at large. We do this by offering high quality events and programs that are relevant in today’s economy. In addition, OPEN Houston events promote learning, networking, development and engagement.
Financials
OPEN is a 501C6 charitable organization. We raise money through three sources
a) Membership fees (~40%)
b) Revenues generated from events that we hold (~30%)
c) Corporate sponsorships (~30%)
Other than a meager token amount that is paid for the operations manager everyone else works for free. It is an all-volunteer organization.
